Survey responses

Keighley Survey

Between 28 November 2022 and 5 January 2023 the public were invited to let us know what they thought about the future of development in Keighley. In total 382 people participated in the survey.

Respondents were asked, in a couple of words, what they felt Keighley’s best kept secret was. Keighley’s heritage and culture, community, and nature/green spaces were identified the most.

Respondents were also asked what they felt Keighley’s biggest challenge was. Addressing the town centre, economy/jobs, crime and anti-social behaviour were identified the most.

Finally, respondents were asked what they felt to be the single biggest opportunity for Keighley would be in the next 10 years. Better shopping, town centre regeneration, strengthening the economy and creating jobs were identified the most.

Ilkley Survey

Between 28 November 2022 and 5 January 2023 the public were invited to let us know what they thought about the future of development in Ilkley. In total 91 people participated in the survey.

Respondents were overwhelmingly positive about Ilkley, saying it had a strong community in an attractive and beautiful pleasant setting. They enjoyed the local shopping and access to the river and countryside.

We love Ilkley too, but reflecting on the survey results we have decided the the focus of the Development Framework will be on Keighley as the area with the greatest regeneration potential.
